Got flip phones on your mind again? Motorola knew you were toying with the idea of putting the practical voice in your head to rest and investing in these snazzy marvels, so it decided to unveil the Motorola Razr 2025 series. These new Motorola flip phones include three new beauties in brand-new colors and finishes, but from a design point of view, not much has changed in the layout or overall appearance of the device.
The fun new Motorola phone colors may seem like a minor detail to center our attention on, but combined with the low pricing and reliable battery, it lands exactly on user priorities. Just like its predecessors, the Motorola Razr 2025 lineup brings a fun, aesthetic-lead charm to the smartphone and flip phone category, giving everyone a budget-friendly alternative to the latest Galaxy or OnePlus folding phones. There’s enough fun to share with everyone.

The Motorola Razr 2025 series has the best external display of all the flip phones on the market right now.
The Motorola Razr 2025 Series Brings Three New Flip Phones
The Razr 2025 lineup includes three new models—Razr, Razr Plus, and Razr Ultra. The clamshell design and large outer screen remain untouched and the titanium hinge and dual-camera system also keep with the original smartphone design from last year.
The Razr 2025 series models are nearly identical and hard to tell apart at first glance, but the internal specs are different and the Ultra model is slightly larger and has the “world’s first triple 50MP camera system on a flip phone.” The third 50MP lens is the selfie camera, do not get lost in the wording.
Motorola Razr 2025
The $700 Motorola Razr 2025 is the cheapest of the lot and its specs are more subdued. It has a MediaTek Dimensity 7400X chip and offers 8GB RAM and 256 GB storage. The camera sensors include a 50MP lens, and a 13MP ultra-wide and Macro Vision lens. For those who enjoy taking selfies, there’s a 32MP camera when unfolded.
It features a 6.9-inch pOLED HDR10+ internal display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 3.6-inch external screen for all your viewing needs.
The best part of this model is the 4,500 mAh battery, which allows it to take a more impressive break between charges. You also get an IP48 rating for some degree of dust resistance, similar to the Galaxy Z Flip. You can choose between a few different finishes like leather-inspired, nylon-inspired, or lightweight Acetate. The device is available in four colors—Pantone Gibraltar Sea (blue), Pantone Lightest Sky (off-white), Pantone Spring Bud (green), and Pantone Parfait Pink
Motorola Razr Plus 2025
The $1000 Razr Plus is a little more pricey and gets to enjoy the perks of a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip as a result. The RAM is upgraded to 12 GB with 256 GB storage. The dual cameras in this model showcase two 50 MP lenses, with the secondary one offering 2x telephoto capabilities. The same 32MP selfie camera as the Razr 2025 makes an appearance here. The 6.9-inch OLED internal display offers up to 165Hz refresh rate, and the flip phone also has a 4-inch external screen.
The Razr Plus 2025 also has a dual camera system but it comes with the benefit of two 50MP lenses, one wide and one telephoto. Unfortunately, it compromises on power, with a 4,000 mAh battery at its center. The colors don’t sound as exotic on this one as it’s available in Midnight Blue, Pantone Mocha Mousse (brown), and Hot Pink.
Motorola Razr Ultra 2025
The $1,300 Razr Ultra is the most formidable of the bunch. Putting the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor to good use, the device offers 16GB RAM and 512GB or 1TB of memory. The camera system includes a 50MP wide lens and 50MP ultrawide lens, and the selfie camera is also 50MP. The 7-inch pOLED display is allowed to shine with narrower bezels and the refresh rate goes up to 165Hz. It also features a 4-inch external screen.
The Motorola Razr Ultra 2025 has the biggest battery on offer, standing at 4,700 mAh, and users can expect “power for the entire day in just 8 minutes using 68W TurboPower charging.” There’s 30W wireless charging available as well.
There are four finishes on offer here, with a luxurious soft-touch Alcantara, real wood, satin-like, and leather-inspired finishes. Keeping with the Pantone theme, the colors are also unique—Pantone Cabaret (pink), Pantone Scarab (green), Pantone Mountain Trail (wood-design), and Pantone Rio Red.

Colors, textures, prices—so much variety to choose from with the Motorola Razr 2025 series.
What Makes the Razr 2025 Lineup So Appealing?
If you already have a Motorola Razr, there’s little reason to upgrade to the new model unless you decide to pick the Razr Ultra 2025, which provides some bigger upgrades. Still, we expect that those who are tempted to buy a flip phone might be lured in by Motorola’s new phones.
There are a couple of different reasons why we think the Razr 2025 lineup will be a success.
Large External Displays Make the Razr Series Stand Out
Many customers have decided to settle for a book-fold phone over a flip one because of the guarantee of a larger external display. Motorola’s new phones, much like their predecessors, have a larger external screen compared to other flip phones, allowing some degree of usability and customizability without having to test the hinges every time.
The Diverse Colors and Finishes Add to the Fun of Owning a FlipPhone
The target market for Motorola flip phones or other such devices is the younger generation, who might make a purchase to experience the joys of using such a phone on the go or to maximize its aesthetics. Other flip phones on the market look extremely boring by comparison, but Motorola’s offerings are more playful and complement users with varying tastes.
The Razr Lineup Brings Premium Features to the Budget Market
Flip phones are more fragile and make for a riskier investment by default. Spending obscene amounts of money on such a device is not for everyone, but the budget-friendly Razr 2025 offers a solution.
While the lower specs cause it to lose some of its appeal, there is a full market of users out there who just want to use a cool flip phone without a camera lens that can pick up the pores on the moon. The Motorola Moto G Stylus 2025 was similarly loved, for bringing a stylus to a budget-friendly phone.
Range of Prices Offer Something for Everyone
Users who don’t want to settle for a low-spec phone also have the Razr Plus 2025 and Razr Ultra 2025 to consider. This gives them more options to balance between budget, specs, and colors, to pick one that works best for them. The Razr Ultra 2025 really stands out as a device that can appeal to an assortment of buyers.
Bigger Batteries are Always Better
A note-worthy detail from all the Razr 2025 news is the battery capacity. A reliable battery is welcome on any smartphone, but it’s particularly important for flip phones with their dual display. The entire Motorola Razr 2025 series comes with a supportive battery capacity, but while the Razr Plus does come short, the Razr Ultra shines best. Having your smartphone make it through the day without an issue is always a boon.
The AI Obsession Can Also Be Addressed by the Razr Phone’s Launch
AI isn’t a priority or consideration for most users, but there are some who would like to make the most of the tools available. The Razr series supports moto ai features some of which are new and others that have “evolved thanks to consumer feedback.” Razr Ultra 2025 users can also make the most of a dedicated AI key to bring up the AI tool anywhere.
Final Thoughts on the Razr 2025 News
Motorola calls the Razr Ultra 2025 the “most powerful flip phone in the world,” giving due credit to the 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform and the fastest charging capabilities on a flip phone. While we don’t know how the device’s performance matches its “most powerful” status, we think there’s a lot to love about the devices. Do they offer a substantial upgrade from the previous versions? Not necessarily, but few smartphones do.
The Motorola Razr lineup is available to preorder starting May 7 and it will be released on May 15. If you think a new flip phone could add some whimsy to your life, we definitely recommend one of the Motorola Razr 2025 series phones to you.
