This week, Canon Europe unveiled PowerShot SX740 HS, a compact, convenient and affordable point-and-shoot camera. Canon’s new digital camera features 40x optical super zoom (24-960mm) lens and all-new 4K Ultra HD video recording capabilities.

Canon describes PowerShot SX740 HS as a pocket-friendly camera in terms of size and price. Launched at a retail price of $399, Canon’s newest PowerShot camera measurements are110.1 mm (l) x 63.8 mm (w) x 39.9 mm (d). It also puts a light load on travel luggage with 299g weight including battery and memory card.
Offered in two finishes – Silver and Black, the new Canon compact camera is open for pre-booking now. It is slated to arrive in the market later this month.
The 3-inch LCD screen mounted on PowerShot SX740 HS can flip up to 180 degrees.

Embedding ZoomPlus technology, PowerShot SX740 HS lets the photographer to digitally increase optical zoom size from 40x to 80x.
“Its formidable combination of Canon’s latest DIGIC 8 processor and CMOS sensor makes it easy to create sharp, colorful and high definition photos and videos from near or far, at any time of day or night,” the company stated in a statement.
The DIGIC 8 powerful image processor provides speedy autofocus and a nonstop burst speed of up to 10frames per second (fps).

This unique feature also eliminates the need for carrying multiple lenses to get closer to the sights.
Shoot on Move
Canon has also installed Ultra HD 4K video support on its compact camera portfolio, turning PowerShot SX740 HS into an absolute traveling partner. Coupled with 5-axis stabilization system, Canon’s latest digital camera shoots spectacular memories on the move as well as far from a distance and fills in rich details.
“4K Ultra High Definition frame grabs from 4K movie, meaning treasured moments can be captured in a single approx. 8MP image,” noted in the company’s post.

Operating Environment
Canon PowerShot SX740 HS has got a tough built. It can function effortlessly in environments exhibiting temperatures between 0 and 40 degrees or humidity ranging from 10 to 90 percent.
Moreover, the in-house pop-up flashlight assists to click beautiful pictures in dark light mode also.
