A new season descends upon Fortnite players, down from the skies and world of sci-fi. The biggest Fortnite and Star Wars collaboration has just been announced, all set for its launch on May 2, 2025. The two have had many partnerships over the years, bringing some of the nerdy excitement around the Star Wars franchise to gamers who are always willing to experiment with the possibilities it presents to them.

For the biggest Fortnite x Star Wars collaboration in 2025, dubbed the “Galactic Battle” for Season 3, Fortnite isn’t just introducing new skins but also centering the Battle Pass around it with a redesigned map. The Fortnite x Star Wars Season 3 update is breaking down the season into five episodes, staggering the release into a more consumable one. Here’s everything new in Fortnite Galactic Battle.

The Ins and Outs of the Fortnite and Star Wars Collaboration

Epic Games is leaving no stone unturned for its Star Wars May 2 event. At the heart of the Fortnite x Star Wars collaboration is a fully Star Wars-themed Battle Pass, seamlessly integrated into Fortnite’s overarching storyline. The Galactic Battle event unfolds in five distinct phases, each introducing new challenges and narrative beats:

  • May 2: Imperial Takeover
  • May 8: Pull of the Force
  • May 22: Mandalorian Rising
  • May 29: Star Destroyer Bombardment
  • June 7: Death Star Sabotage

This dynamic approach to Fortnite’s Star Wars Season 3 update will blend its signature gameplay with iconic Star Wars lore to make it more engaging for everyone involved. This collaboration also marks the release of Disney’s new animated Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld show that is set to premiere. Fortnite players have a chance to watch the series early in the game, adding further excitement to the game.

How to Watch Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld Early

The Fortnite Star Wars Season 3 update will go live on May 2, and fans who join the Star Wars Watch Party island can watch the first two episodes early as the show officially debuts on May 4. “Beyond the Star Wars Watch Party theater, players have the opportunity to fight off incoming waves of Stormtroopers using blasters and lightsabers,” Epic Games revealed in the announcement.

Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld will stream in Fortnite on May 2, 2025, at 10 AM ET. Those who want to join in can use the island code 2124-6713-8076. Watch both episodes and you can also get the Asajj Ventress loading screen for Fortnite for free.

This is only the start of Disney’s plans to build an in-game universe of Disney content on Fortnite. Last year, Disney acquired a $1.5 billion stake in Epic. If you’re not interested in just watching the Disney Star Wars series in Fortnite, there are other in-game changes to look forward to as well.

How Do You Feel About the Biggest Fortnite x Star Wars Collab of 2025?

The Fortnite x Star Wars collaboration brings new skins and areas to explore and also changes the theme of the Battlepass to better suit the vibe that the sci-fi series is bringing to the game. The new animated Disney Star Wars series featuring Fortnite marks a new level of integration that we haven’t seen before and it opens the door to many ways that live service games can continue to evolve.

With its end-of-season music events and the constant partnerships that Epic Games explores with other brands of pop culture, Fortnite has easily become one of the most culturally relevant games today, despite how much some sections of gamers continue to dunk on it.

With Fortnite’s Chapter 6: Season 3—also the 35 season of the game overall—released right around the corner, Fortnite shows no signs of slowing down and dialing back on its central role in the world of gaming.
