Say what you want about Fortnite; the game knows how to rock a collaboration like no one else. If you haven’t heard, a new The Walking Dead character skin is coming to the game, so if you’re wondering how to get Negan on Fortnite, we have a quick little guide for you.
Negan has arrived at the item shop on Fortnite, marking this the third collaboration between Epic Games and The Walking Dead universe. The bat-weilding villain has a following on his own, and despite the simplicity of his design, there’s something quite iconic about his fashion that might appeal to those who aren’t fans either. The Fortnite Negan update arrived on April 4, 2025, so if you’re interested in this new Walking Dead skin, here’s what you need to do.

The new Fortnite x The Walking Dead update brings comic book Negan to the game as a new skin.
Fortnite x Walking Dead Update: What’s New?
The first thing you need to know about the Fortnite Walking Dead skin is that it’s designed based on the comic book version of Negan and not Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s formidable portrayal of it. If you’re a fan of the actor over the character, you might find yourself disappointed, but you can still take a look at the Negan skin in the item shop on Fortnite and see if it floats your boat.
Of course, the Fortnite x Walking Dead update doesn’t just include a new skin. With an upcoming update, you will also have new game assets to include in Creative mode and Unreal Editor for Fortnite, with walker NPCs and a prison island template from early in the series. There are also some weapons—Shiva Shotgun Ranged Weapon, Lucille Melee Weapon—and prefabs and galleries—eight prison-themed prefabs total, four prison-themed galleries—to look forward to.
The walkers might be slow-moving and easy to take down in small numbers, but there’s nothing stopping a horde from unleashing dangerous attacks or ambushing already nervous players, making them an interesting addition to the game.

From v34.30 on April 8, Negan will also be available to use as an NPC, so it’s not just an exciting time for Fortnite with the Negan skins. You will be free to publish your The Walking Dead Universe islands from May 16 via the Creator Portal, so get set to immerse yourself in the new update.
Fortnite Negan Skin Bundle: What Do You Get?
The v34.30 update is on its way, but you can still get your hands on Fortnite’s Negan skin right now. The cel-shaded Negan skin costs 1,500 V-Bucks, but investing in the whole bundle costs only 500 V-Bucks.
The Negan Bundle is available for 2,000 V-Bucks, and it includes the Lucille Pickaxe, Krakk! Wrap, and bag bling that you can also purchase individually.
Here are all the items you can expect, along with the Negan skin in the item shop in Fortnite:
- Negan Outfit: 1,500 V-Bucks
- Krakk! Wrap: 500 V-Bucks
- Lucille Pickaxe: 800 V-Bucks
- Walker’s Headcase Back Bling: 400 V-Bucks
- Negan Bundle: 2,000 V-Bucks
After previous The Walking Dead character skins with Rick, Michonne, and Daryl, Negan will be a nice addition to the mix. The new Fortnite Walking Dead skin will only be available in the item shop till April 11, 8 PM ET, so if you’re thinking of buying it, now is the time to do it.
How to Get Negan in Fortnite?
Unfortunately, Fortnite is not just giving the skin away for free, so you have to use V-Bucks to purchase the skin and accessories from the Item shop in-game. V-Bucks refers to the in-game currency, which can be purchased using real-world money. 1,000 V-Bucks can be purchased for $8.99, or if you want enough for the Fortnite’s Negan skin bundle, you can get 2,800 V-Bucks for $22.99.
You could also earn some V-Bucks in the game by playing and reaching stages of the purchased Battle Pass, but this is a more long-drawn-out process, and it’s unlikely you’ll be able to do it quickly enough before the cosmetic leaves the shop or make enough to buy the skin. A Fortnite Crew subscription can also get you some V-Bucks every month for future purchases.
Once you transfer money into in-game V-Bucks currency, you can go to the item shop and exchange it for the Negan skin in Fortnite. That’s all you need to know about how to get Negan in Fortnite.
Will We See a Jeffrey Dean Morgan Skin on Fortnite?
Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s portrayal of Negan in the AMC horror drama series is perhaps more well-known than the comic book version, so many fans had hoped that the character skin would adopt his likeness, similar to the other The Walking Dead skins available in Fortnite.
Since Fortnite won’t give us the Negan we want, I’m gonna just play Tekken 7 pic.twitter.com/V2n1x5p0Sh

Hey @Fortnite @WalkingDead_AMC PLEASEEEE figure something out, sorry to say it but no one wants the comic version of Negan. Give us @JDMorgan
— Kyle – spankysully (@spankysully) April 3, 2025
For now, it remains unlikely that a future collaboration could see his version of the Negan skin appear in Fortnite. When asked about the same on Twitter/X, however, the actor appeared excited about the idea.
Of course. Pretty sure this is a
deal that @skybound made? Besides, CB Negan is damn awesome! Though, admittedly, it’d be pretty cool to have the two versions of negan. Be fun to hang with Andy as Rick again.— Jeffrey Dean Morgan (@JDMorgan) April 4, 2025
The new Negan items are part of the Survivor in Arms set, which is the same set as the other characters previously featured from The Walking Dead. While there have been previous instances of multiple skins for a specific character, this time, it appears unlikely.
Still, with the Fortnite x Negan skin revealed and on the shop, you can now go make your purchase for the new cosmetic before it leaves on April 11. Hopefully, we’ll have no issues with the game going down again this weekend.
