Vampire Survivors’ PlayStation release has been confirmed for August 29, 2024, and our gothic-horror-loving hearts could not be more excited. Indie developer Poncle struck gold when they first launched the browser game in March 2021, and ever since then, the game has spread from platform to platform to accommodate the demand for the roguelite survival experience. The release date for Vampire Survivors has been something of a mystery as the company tried to work through the process of bringing the game to the new platform, but now the PlayStation platform officially states its release date, so there’s only a brief wait ahead of us.

Vampire Survivors PlayStation Release Confirmed: August 29, 2024
Most PS4/PS5 gaming news has now been overshadowed by the announcement that Vampire Survivors is finally coming to the consoles. The game got an early-access Steam release for PC back in 2021. When it began to rise in the Steam charts with great ease, the indie developers started tailoring the game to suit other platforms like Xbox, Switch, and mobile. The developers have also released the game for the Apple Arcade already.
Vampire Survivors’ PlayStation release has been a long time coming. The initial announcement in April gave us some hope for an early release but with no updates in the months after, fans were worried. The developers had faced some delays going through PlayStation’s submission process as it was their first time with getting things sorted for the platform. Now, with a ridiculous trailer in tow, the official Aug 29 release date for Vampire Survivors has allowed fans to breathe a sigh of relief.
What is Vampire Survivor?
If you haven’t played Vampire Survivor before but are wondering why everyone is so excited, now is a great time to try your hand at this game. The gothic horror survival game requires you to defeat monsters that have abandoned hell to plague your world and so you must survive as long as possible every round. You can either play solo or with three other local friends after you pick a character and use your weapon to decimate the hordes that show up.
“Testing your mettle against the legions of hell,” you collect experience points as you play and there are other resources that drop regularly as you battle it out. Gold coins can be collected to buy resources to level up so even if you fall, you can come back stronger in the next round. One look at the goofy trailer should tell you just how amusing the game can be.
we said summer… it’s still summer 💙

The Vampire Survivors PlayStation release trailer promises “500,000 texture mapped garlic balls and at least 13.5 hours of gameplay,” all for “the price of a peri peri chicken wrap.” It’s an irresistible deal. The game has over 50 playable characters and over 80 weapons to experiment with, and there is never a boring moment once you get started. If you aren’t an enjoyer of games with a lot of lore supported by hours of dialogue, then we recommend joining the list of gamers patiently awaiting the release date for Vampire Survivors to draw closer.
The pixel art style and simplistic graphics may not be for everyone, but there is something inherently nostalgic about playing this game, even if you’ve never tried it before.
Final Updates on the Vampire Survivors News
The game will be priced at $4.99 USD and additional DLCs will also be available if you want to commit to the full game experience. There are four pieces of downloadable content available for the game—Legacy of the Moonspell, Tides of the Foscari, Emergency Meeting, and Operation Guns. Inspired by the Contra series, the Operation Guns DLC is particularly fun and the music tracks directly from the game make it all the more engaging. The expansion packs come at a very reasonable price so there is really no reason to skip this game.

If you enjoy mobile gaming then you can try the game out for free but the PlayStation version sounds quite promising. Vampire Survivor is available to add to your PlayStation wishlist right now so if you’re interested in giving it a go, now’s the time to take charge of the survivor train powered by “world premiere train mechanics” and head towards terrors unknown.
