With every passing day, there are a growing number of iPhone SE 4 leaks to keep us company. From the talk around town, it appears that the iPhone SE 4 has a release date set somewhere in April and the phone will cost approximately $499. The price is a step up from the $429 launch price of the previous SE model, but it is also unbelievably affordable for an Apple product. This is particularly relevant when we learn that the iPhone SE 4 isn’t planning on skipping out on Apple Intelligence, the most premium of Apple’s offerings.

The iPhone SE 3 was a well-loved device in its own right, so there are a lot of fans waiting patiently to see if the new phone will be worth an investment this time around. A closer look at the iPhone SE’s expected specs might give you a better sense of whether you want to wait for the device over the recently launched Samsung Galaxy S25 or the Nothing Phone 3 or 3a releasing on March 4.

iPhone SE 4 Leaks—What Are the Minds at Apple Cooking Up This Time?

Apple enthusiasts had been keen on seeing a release for the iPhone SE 4 in 2024 but with the launch of the iPhone 16 series and the company’s other investments in the Apple Vision Pro, the SE series was temporarily sidelined. Now that Apple has planned to reign in its work on its Vision “spatial computer” and go all in on its smartphone business, we’re comfortably drawing closer to the iPhone SE 4’s release date in April.

Of the many iPhone SE 4 rumors around, one suggests that Apple might rebrand the SE line with a different naming strategy to showcase how close it comes to their flagship phones from last year. As a result, the iPhone SE 4 may launch as the iPhone 16E, but take the news with a grain of salt.

Some iPhone SE 4 leaks also indicate that the company could release two separate smartphones—the standard SE 4 and a larger SE 4 Plus. This would be breaking the convention of the series, but it isn’t an impossible outcome.

The company is also expected to be working on a foldable smartphone with no set release date, so with too little information to go on, all eyes are on the iPhone SE 4.

iPhone SE 4 Rumors Surrounding Design and Form

The iPhone SE 4 leaks indicate the smartphone will have a 6.1-inch OLED display and 60Hz refresh rate. It will also showcase slimmer bezels than we’ve seen with the previous models in the SE series. The switch away from the LCD screen will mark the end of an era for Apple considering it is the last series from the company to do so, but the parting won’t weigh too heavily on most fans.

The iPhone SE 4 feature of the display notch has been an area of conflict for leakers. The majority believe that the smartphone will use a notch on the screen for the camera and this is most likely true from what we’ve seen of the dummy unit image leaks.

Some believe that Apple might go ahead and give the device the dynamic island cutout that fans have loved since the iPhone 14 Pro and other more recent models. This is very unlikely as Apple only just introduced the feature to the full lineup of iPhone 16 models, but we can never say never.

The iPhone SE 4 will undoubtedly feature a USB-C port considering the company has truly moved away from the lighting port now, and there is also word of an additional action button for convenient shortcuts, replacing the mute button on the device.

The iPhone SE 4 leaks also confirmed a single rear camera lens on the upcoming model, tagged at 48MP. A 12MP selfie camera should complete the setup. The raised camera lens isn’t something all fans enjoy, but Apple appears to be sticking to the design.

The iPhone SE 4’s Expected Specs Include an A18 Chipset

One of the most critical features of the iPhone SE 4 is the integration of an A18 chipset, which is the best that Apple currently has to offer. Even the iPhone 15 Pro is one generation behind, utilizing the capabilities of the A17. The iPhone 16 series has been thriving on the A18’s capabilities and this should continue with the next smartphone.

This integration will allow a larger number of people to gain access to the latest iOS benefits and Apple Intelligence’s advanced features. The iPhone SE 4 leaks also suggest that the device will support Face ID, so those used to its convenience should have an opportunity to celebrate.

The iPhone SE 4’s Storage and Battery Will Get a Major Upgrade

The 8GB RAM is the same capacity as that available on the iPhone 16 Pro Max, so if it’s enough to support the processing needs of the premium device, it’ll work just fine on the iPhone SE 4. The device should also see a base storage of 128GB with a 3,279mAh battery.

The storage on the iPhone SE 3 from 2022 started at 64GB with 4GB RAM, and it came with a 2,018mAh battery, so the new device is a definite upgrade from the old one.

Fans Appear Excited about the iPhone SE 4 Features

Tipster Majin Bu managed to share videos and photos of the upcoming phone, and while we can’t confirm how accurate the depictions are, the iPhone SE 4 looks just as elegant and noteworthy as Apple’s primary line of smartphones. From the posts on Twitter/X, some fans have even committed to replacing their Apple Pro phones with the new SE so they can enjoy all the conveniences of a high-end phone in a simple form factor. We won’t know if this is true until the smartphone arrives on the market.

When we put all the iPhone SE 4 leaks and rumors together, we’re left with a device that isn’t startlingly superior to other smartphones on the market, but it still does a commendable job of speaking up for itself. Apple’s decision to stick to a single rear camera lens is a bold choice in this day and age, but it also speaks to the brand’s certainty that people will buy the phone.

With Apple Intelligence integrated into the SE 4, there is likely to be a lot of interest in this upcoming gadget, but will it be enough to sell the vision to the consumer? We’ll have to wait a few months to see.
