Think COVID-19 pandemic is here to rain on this year’s smartphone launch parade? Think again. 2020’s most awaited releases are on track to fill you in with all your technocrat wants and desires. It’s not just iPhone 12 launch that is closer than you think. The Motorola Razr 2 release date is peeking from the calendar.

According to sourcing, the revamped Razr brand will be launched just seven months after the original release data. This is a quick turnaround to fix some of the revamped model’s issues.

Moto Razr 2 Specs

The foldable phone will be powered by the Snapdraon 765 chipset. It will also come with 5G support which the original revamped Razr was lacking. In such a scenario, the device might only support sub-6GHz 5G networks. The question remains if Motorola will be able to pack mmWave antennas into the foldable phone’s body to support 5G networks like Verizon’s Ultrawide Band network.

Motorola Razr 2 will be equipped with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Razr 2 camera will also get an update. According to rumors, Samsung’s 48 MP ISOCELL Bright GM1 sensor will power Razr 2’s picture-clicking abilities. The front-facing camera will also get a new lease of life, at least in terms of resolution, with a 20 MP unit. Speaking of bigger things – we hear the battery comes with an improvement. But at 2,845 mAh, it is still quite small for this day and age.

Razr 2 Release Date

The foldable Moto Razr 2 will ship with Android 10 – it’s quite a deal breaker as Android 11 will probably launch before it. Worst case scenario, Razr 2 buyers will have to wait until May 2020 to get the latest OS version.

Razr 2 model was developed with the Chinese and North American audience in mind. It’s unclear if Motorola plans to launch the second-gen Razr in other markets like India, Latin America or Europe.

Technowize is awaiting information on some of the desired improvements for the foldable Razr 2. Let’s hope Moto’s latest offering comes with a better quality screen this time.
