Smartphone launches are pivotal time markers in the tech world, allowing its regularly scheduled release to show just where our most used tech gadgets are headed next. It’s nearly time for the Google Pixel 10 to set a release date, and the rumors are ramping up to give us a glimpse of what’s in store. News leaks around the Pixel 10 launch schedule suggest that the smartphone will be announced on August 13, 2025, with a full release on August 20, 2025. Google is typically known for October launches, however, it seems that the smartphone maker is shifting to an earlier release schedule instead.
With the excitement around the Android 16 OS release already high, the Pixel 10 release timeline could fall a little behind the full unveiling of the next version of the operating system. For the most part, the next iteration of the Pixel phone is expected to be similar to the current version in both design and form, but we’ll have to wait and see if Google has some hidden tricks under its sleeve.

The Pixel 10 Release Date Is Coming Soon If the Rumors Are to Be Believed
The Google Pixel 10 August reveal has not been confirmed by the company yet, but it’s too early for an official notice of any kind. Most smartphone makers give us a few weeks to prepare for launch at most, and while some brands like Nothing and Huawei reveal some details well in advance, companies like Google and Samsung prefer to execute a full product reveal during special events instead.
According to a report by Android Headline, the Pixel 10’s release date of August 20, 2025, will be used to showcase the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel Pro XL, and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. There is no evidence that Google is hopping on to the slim phone trend the way Samsung has already and Apple is expected to, so it’s going to be interesting to see how its new devices perform against the thin marvels.
Google holds a comparatively smaller share of the market compared to these two competitors, but the brand has established itself as a solid option for smartphones, particularly ones that best optimize the operating system designed by it. We don’t have all the details regarding the specs and features of the upcoming smartphones just yet, but here’s what we know.
Rumored Pixel 10 Specs and Features
If there’s one thing we know about the Google Pixel 10’s launch, it’s that it will feature the Tensor G5 chip, believed to be a major leap up from the Tensor G4. Built on a 3nm process, it promises improved performance and efficiency over previous versions and Google has reportedly secured a 3-5 year manufacturing deal with TSMC to produce the Pixel chips instead of Samsung.
This could also introduce a switch from the Samsung Exynos modem to a MediaTek modem introducing some advancements in performance.
The base model is expected to have three cameras this time, with the third camera a telephoto lens joining the setup. The camera bar design and overall appearance will likely remain untouched for the most part. The Pixel 10 is expected to be available in Black Obsidian, Blue, Purple Iris, and Yellow Limoncello. The Pro and XL models may offer different color options with White Porcelain, Black Obsidian, Green, and Gray Sterling.
Will the Pixel 10’s August Reveal Rely on Android 16 to Promote the Product?
So far, there is nothing exceptional of note about the upcoming Pixel devices that make it more attractive than the previous series. The only clear selling point appears to be that it will ship with Android 16 out of the box, which should be released by the end of June 2025.
The upgrades with the new software will inevitably arrive on existing Pixel smartphones soon enough so it is hard to look at the OS as a reason to buy the upcoming smartphone. Of course, Android 16 will also bring AI updates with it, but these advantages will also trickle down to other smartphones over time.
The Google Pixel 10 leaks suggest that there could be some camera upgrades coming, but other than the third lens on the base model, we don’t expect any substantial differences.
The Pixel 10 Launch Schedule Could Involve a Pixel Watch Update
Along with the release of the Google Pixel 10, it is also expected that the tech giant will introduce the Pixel Watch 4 in two new sizes. For fans who don’t want to upgrade their smartphones but could do with a new smartwatch, this could be really good news. The Pixel watches are not discussed as often but they have had a good run among users who prefer smaller, round-dialed options compared to the boxy or rugged appeal of other smartwatches on the market.
Are You Excited About the Pixel 10 Release?
The Pixel 10 was expected to have an earlier release date, but the newly rumored dates fall in line with Google’s strategy from last year. While we’re excited to see what Google has on display, there is currently no evidence that the Pixel 10 series will be a substantial or even average improvement over the Pixel 9 series. While some upgrades in battery and performance can be expected, we’re keeping our expectations low on Google surprising us with something new.
We’re hoping Google proves us wrong and leaves us awed when the launch day is finally here, but we’ll have to wait and see how things turn out in August.
