Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today introduced a new member in its Galaxy tablet family at Manhattan. Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 is a tablet attuned to modern work culture, that is, mobility and multitasking. It is a 2-in-1 Android tablet focusing on work efficiency while one travels from home to office or vice-versa and everywhere in the middle.
“Nobody’s quite cracked the nut when it comes to tablet 2-in-1 productivity,” said DJ Koh, President and CEO of Samsung.
A week before launching the new flagship mobile Galaxy Note 9 and in view of the company’s poor performance, the South Korean company is building up the market’s momentum towards its stronger portfolio.

Turning to aesthetic appeal, Galaxy Tab S4 is available in two colors –Grey and Black. The device dimensions are 249.3 mm x 164.3 mm x 7.1mm and weigh 482 grams giving it a compact and lightweight body type.
Tablet with S Pen Support
The Samsung S Pen comes packed in the box with Tab S4. Interestingly, one can take note with S Pen on Screen-Off mode also on the newest Samsung tablet. The user can organize, navigate, or translate notes as well as type texts on Live Messages using the stylus.
In addition, S Pen dimensions are 138 mm (l) x Φ9.2 mm and weigh 9.1 g. It can hold up to 4096levels of pressure sensitivity.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 features 10.5-inch screen with smaller bezel size. The 16:10 screen ratio accompanied by 2560×1600 Super AMOLED technology and 287 pixels per inch resolution displays perfectly vivid visuals.
Camera and Audio
Moving ahead, Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 gets a 13MP AF rear sensor and 8MP front sensor. The image can record UHD 4K (3840×2160) videos at 30 frames per second (fps) and play the same at 60 fps.
And while discussing audio quality, the device is paired with four speakers tuned by AKG and offers surround sound with Dolby Atmos technology.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 Performance
The all-new Samsung tablet is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Octa Core processor and functions on Android 8.1 operating system. Supporting LTE, Galaxy Tab S4 comes with 4GB RAM and storage space of either 64GB or 256GB.
At the same time, the device has a massive battery capacity of 7300 mAh along with fast charging support through USB 3.1 type-C connectivity. Such a huge battery can play 16 hours of videos on a go.
Samsung DeX Interface
Galaxy Tab S4 is a premium tablet with DeX support integrated for the first time on any Samsung tablet. The feature lets the owners connect their Samsung mobile devices to the desktops to extract the advantages of bigger displays and produce more efficiency.
Fixing the system into the Tab S4, when the device is connected to optional Book Cover keyboard (available for $149.99) or booted from the Quick Panel, Samsung DeX gets powered on and facilitates user to switch to desktop interface from mobile version. The Android apps including Microsoft Office suite will now open in desktop-style directly onto the Galaxy S4 tablets.

Usability in Stand-by Mode
Coming to Smart applications of Samsung Galaxy Tab S4, the device is enabled to monitor and control the Smart home devices right from the tablet via SmartThings app.
In fact, Galaxy Tab S4 converts into a smart home display gadget in the standby mode. One can activate ‘Daily Board’to display the stored photos while it is being charged or just set it to show date, time, and current weather forecast.
Plus, Samsung Flow app facilitates users to handle all of their devices easily by linking and transferring files, notifications, and tasks effortlessly.
Privacy Support
Furthermore, with Samsung Knox, a defensive mobile security platform installed in the S4 tablet, the company assures a comprehensive privacy protection to the customers at several levels of the device.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 Price
The pre-booking of Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 has started from today to August 9, 2018, in the US. The WiFi version of Tab S4(64GB)will surface in the US market for $649.99. The one with higher storage space of 256GB will be marketed at price $750. It will be made available on Amazon, Best Buy and Samsung.com from Aug 10.
Simultaneously, the Galaxy Tab S4 with LTE version can be purchased at Verizon initially from Aug 10. Later in Q3 2018, the other major wireless companies including AT&T, Sprint, and US Cellular will also start offering the Tab S4 LTE model.
Galaxy Tab A 10.5
The South Korean Electronics Company has also unveiled an affordable version of the new flagship tablet. That’s Galaxy Tab A 10.5, an “original imitation” of the Galaxy Tab S4 devoid its superior specifications. There is neither keyboard nor S Pen integration, no iris scanner and no DeX support either on the Tab A 10.5.
The only components the model inherits from its Galaxy Tab S4 are 10.5-inch screen size,7300 mAh battery power and four speakers with Dolby Atmos. Otherwise, even the screen panel is 1080p LCD, rather than high-resolution OLED available on its premium edition.
Though Galaxy Tab A 10.5 includes a ‘Daily Board’ and ‘Kids Mode’ which indicates that Galaxy Tab A 10.5 is targeted to a different set of audience. The device is powered by Snapdragon 450 chipset and runs on Android 8.1 OS with 3GB RAM and 32GB microSD storage.
Samsung has not disclosed the price of Galaxy Tab A 10.5. Yet, for reference, the Tab A 10.1 is worth $229, and the new Tab A will also fall somewhere near this price range.
