A few weeks away from launch and we now have a few Xiaomi 14 Ultra rumors and leaks to keep us occupied until we see what the company has to offer. According to online sources, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra release is scheduled for 25 February, but GizmoChina believes an earlier release could be seen by the company’s home country China on 22 February. From what we can see, there are some similarities to the Xiaomi Ultra 13 that was launched globally in June last year, with a similar camera layout to the predecessors. The Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro were unveiled in China on 26 October and could be released globally this month, however, this only applies to the standard Xiaomi 14 as it is believed the 14 Pro will not see a global release. There isn’t as much detail to go on about with the Xiaomi 14 Ultra specs, but here’s what we know so far.

Xiaomi 14 Ultra Rumors

Apart from the guesses regarding the Xiaomi 14 Ultra release date, we’ve seen a few other rumors floating around regarding the upcoming Xiaomi entry. Reports indicate that we could see a 6.7-inch QHD+ AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. With a 1440 x 3200 pixel resolution and 521 ppi density, the device should be a pretty standard entrant in the market. In terms of the processor, we could see the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset make an appearance, which is likely to be standard for a majority of the releases this year. The company hasn’t said anything about it being used to support an “AI phone,” a detail that seems to be the selling point for a lot of launches in 2024.

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra specs suggest the inclusion of a 5300 mAh battery with 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging and the IP68 water resistance is also reassuring. The highlight of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra rumors is with regard to the camera. Unlike the basic Xiaomi 14 with its square camera layout, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra camera is rumored to have a circular, raised setup like the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. The rather prominent camera design is something we’ve seen quite a few smartphone makers flaunting, the OnePlus 12 for example. Keeping in line with the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro, the device could have Leica-branded cameras to enhance the photography experiences for its users. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra quad cameras could feature a 50 MP wide-angle lens, a 50 MP periscope lens, a 50 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP telephoto lens as well. For the front camera, a 32 MP lens appears to be sufficient.

Xiaomi 14 Ultra Rumors

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra leaks also indicate some differences in the phone material as well. 91Mobiles reported that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra could perhaps feature a titanium version, similar to the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and the iPhone 15 Pro. The Xiaomi 14 Pro also received a titanium redesign but that unfortunately isn’t slated to make it to the global markets. While the reasons for using the material are often stated as additional durability, lightweight design, and sleek finish, we think it’s the novelty that keeps companies turning to the titanium frame right now.

To wrap up the rumors so far, the last titbit on the Xiaomi 14 Ultra specs indicates three storage variants: 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, as well as 16GB RAM with either 512GB or 1TB storage. Again, there’s nothing exceptional about these Xiaomi 14 Ultra rumors so far; it’s great to hear that we’ll have a few options to consider before we make a decision on which module suits us best once the prices are confirmed, but there’s nothing major to break down right now. We’ll have a lot more to analyze and discuss after the 25 February MWC 2024 event that is scheduled in Barcelona, where the company should reveal more about the Xiaomi 14 Ultra specs and any additional updates like the global launch of the base Xiaomi 14 or the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro.
